Well with braided line you need to wet it when you tie you knot. Just like with all other lines even mono lines, they cut into itself without lube. so wet your line before you tie the knot.

It works good, watch your knots though that is the weakest link with all braided line. Use a drop of superglue on the knot but not too much as you can make too stiff and it will be more vulnerable. I love braided line for the topwater action and quick hooksets. Fishing here in california you get alot of long casts, until back east, so a quick hookset without line stretch is very important to me. Also check your line regularly for cuts especially if you are fishing around structure as the braided line doesn't seem to be as forgiving to me as mono or fluoro when it comes to snags and rocks. Trust me it is much better than what you used back in 1995 though.

I have some Stren Super Braid I got when I bought a reel on eBay it was thrown in with the reel. It is 10lb dia./ 40lb. test and has anyone used this line and could you tell me about it? I have not used any braid since like 1995 and then it was SpiderWire 50lb. test. Had a giant bass over 10lbs. on a Zara Spook using this braid with a long cast out and the bass broke this line with no trouble. I did like the fact the no stretch seemed to get better hook sets on top water lures better than mono and the same using braid for buzz baits. Just curious about this 2008 model Stren Super Braid as to how it performs.
Appreciate any info I can get on this line as I have not used it before and been many years since I have used braid. Thanks...

Well I just wanted to say a few things on this subject. Well What I heard is before you tie down your fishing knot you first need to wet the knot then tie down. This is from a fellow fisherman because he said that the line will cut into itself (even MONO lines) if the line is dry, so before you tie down the knot wet it then tie down. Didn't know if you new that...

I normally use a very small nylon tube over the braided line to protect it from the chaffing from the lures. Got the tubes from from expired butterfly needles used to draw blood. Others soft nylon tubes available through McMaster Carr. Check it out.

Spooled up with Stren's Microfuse the other day and tried it out on Saturday at the lake. I really love the action of this line, the sensitivity is unbeatable. I always use a drop of glue on my knots whenever I am fishing braided line, more for a extra little comfort of knowing the knot won't slip on a good fish. I'm not sure about the glowing part but the line is very easy to see and doesn't seem to spook the fish. I'm going to try it at night this week so I will see how it works then as well. Below is Stren's official statement on the Microfuse in case you want to read it:
New for 2008
NEW- Scientific breakthroughs in superline technology have allowed us to produce an AMAZING new Stren® superline with the same translucent Fluorescent Clear Blue color that Stren® mono users have come to depend on for decades. When fishing in daylight, this thermally-fused braided line GLOWS a Hi-Vis FLUORESCENT Blue. In the dark when night fishing under a black light, it GLOWS a Hi-Vis NEON Blue. Stren® Microfuse™ Dyneema® fibers give unsurpassed strength-per-diameter. The super-smooth surface allows for incredible casting distance, and the near-zero stretch facilitates incredible sensitivity. As Bill Dance says... The Line You See is The Line You Control. This is the only superline on the market that GLOWS!, day or night. 125 yard spools
